Japan earthquakeComme vous le savez, le vendredi 11 mars, le Nord-Est du Japon a été frappé par un séisme de magnitude 8,9, le plus fort jamais enregistré au Japon, déclenchant ensuite un tsunami de plusieurs mètres de haut sur les côtes Pacifique. Cela a entrainé de très nombreuses victimes, des dégâts considérables et des dommages importants à la centrale nucléaire de Fukushima.

BénévolatA l’occasion de la journée internationale des volontaires, la Fédération pour la paix universelle et la Fédération des femmes pour la paix mondiale ont organisé le dernier atelier de l’année sur le thème : « Renforcer la culture de la paix par le bénévolat ».

Sur base de la récente série d’Assemblées mondiales qui se sont tenues à New York, Las Vegas et Séoul, nous lançons actuellement, au niveau international, une campagne pour la paix – dont la première phase se déroule du 22 novembre 2010 au 3 février 2011.

Ethique de l’amour et de la sexualitéRompant avec les traditions consacrées par l’usage et levant les interdits du passé, la révolution sexuelle avait promis un surcroît de liberté, d’amour et de bonheur. Il est temps, un demi-siècle et deux générations après, d’en faire le bilan. N’a-t-elle pas plutôt entraîné dans son sillage toute une somme de problèmes personnels et sociaux ? N’a-t-on pas sous-estimé les conséquences des « relations sexuelles libres » ? Est-ce que la révolution sexuelle a été à la hauteur de ses promesses ? Nous vous proposons de revoir la question sous d’autres angles.

Patrice Huard   Nous aborderons le thème du conflit en mettant l’accent sur le caractère et les normes éthiques. Avec un double souci : prévenir et résoudre les conflits.

Avant de proclamer la première semaine de février, « Semaine mondiale de l’harmonie interconfessionnelle »*, l’Assemblée générale a examiné, ce matin, le rapport annuel du Conseil économique et social (ECOSOC), qui a été l’occasion pour les États Membres de multiplier les propositions pour améliorer encore l’efficacité de cette enceinte.
